No he usado Guadalinex, uso debian, pero supongo que sera parecido, si quieres cambiar la resolucion en modo grafico, lo puedes hacer en el centro de control de Gnome, en el apartado Resolución de Pantalla, y ahi lo cambias.

Otra manera de cambiar la resolucion al vuelo, es con las tecla ctrl-alt-[+] y control-alt-[-], para aumentar y disminuir la resolucion respectivamente.

Sino tambien lo puedes hacer de forma manual, tocando el fichero de configuración de las X, que esta en /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, pero prueba mejor los otros metodos, son mas intuitivo, sino te va, ya te explico este. Un saludo

Nota:Bueno todo lo anterior es viable si tu monitor soporta una resolucion mas alta que 1024x768, el mio por ejemplo no lo soporta. Un saludo

Es raro que no te funcione lo del control + alt + [+], pero bueno, el archivo XF86Condfig-4, es el archivo de configuración de las X, y en debian se puede cambiar o a mano, editando el fichero o mejor aun con:

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

te va haciendo una serie de preguntas acerca de la tarjeta grafica monitor etc..

Para hacerlo a mano edita el archivo /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 y en el apartado donde pone:

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Default Screen"
Device "Intel"
Monitor "Generic Monitor"
DefaultDepth 24

SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubSection

donde pone 1024x768 ahi pones la resolución que quieras, si con esto no consigues arreglarlo, si que seria raro raro raro. Si no a unas malas siempre podias arrancar con knoppix, o con una suse o algo similar y grabarte el archivo de configuración de las X, y sin aun asi no funcionase entonces tiene q ser un problema de compatibilidad de hardware. Conseguí aumentar la resolción con vuestra ayuda. Por una parte, "monté" los drivers de NVidia (lo de monté lo entrecomillo porque realmente se montan solos con synaptic). Después edité el fichero /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 y aumenté las resoluciones disponibles en

SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubSection

Hola que tal. Tengo un problema y es el siguiente:

Acabo de instalar el Debian para una practica de la escuela, asi que solo tengo el sistema base. El problema viene al configurar el modo grafico. Traté con el modo texto (xf86config) y con modo grafico (XF86Setup), sin embargo no viene la tarjeta de video que tengo (NVIDIA GeForce MX 440), la mas parecida es una GeForce 225 (o algo asi), sin embargo cuando selecciono esta, tengo que seleccionar 8bits de profundidad, porque con las demas (16,24...) no funciona. Con la de 8bits SI entra al modo grafico pero ni si quiera con la resolucion de 800x600, por lo que se ve MUY MAL y MUY GRANDE.

Ya intenté algo que lei acerca del ctrl-alt [+] ó ctrl-alt [-], pero no funciona.
Probé bajando el siguiente driver(NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run) y lo corrí con sh, pero al momento de tratar de instalar me aparece el siguiente mensaje:
./nvidia-installer:/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.2´ not found (requred by ./nvidia-installer).

Traté de poner todos los detalles asi q espero q por favor me orienten ya que la verdad no soy muy experto que digamos en esto de Linux.

Hola si esta distribución funciona igual que el debian sarge, para cambiar la resolución de pantalla sería de la siguiente forma:

Se ingresa como root

su

se digita el password

cd /etc

cd /X11

vim XF86...

Agregamos la resolución "1024x768" antes de "800x600" en la última conf de resoluciones que creo que es la que dice 24 (no se que tanto sabe pero para agregarla nos ubicamos donde queremos digitar y oprimimos la tecla "i") después oprimimos las teclas "esc" y ":" y "wq" después de esto digitamos reboot para reiniciar la computadora.
